9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Alexandria, Egypt.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - Arrived Alexandria at 0730. Wharf at 1600. Disembarked by 1800. Entrained and left at 2000.

9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Hod Masaid, Sinai
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - The Regiment undertook routine work for the day. Royston, Brigadier General JR, addressed Brigade on work done. Chetwode, Lieutenant General Sir Philip, addressed Brigade.
1917
Tuesday, December 25, 19179th Light Horse Regiment Location - Suffa.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - Christmas Day. Torrential rain fell all day. The wadis were in flood. AIF comforts for Brigade arrived at respective Regiments 1145. Much appreciated by all. Darley, Major TH; and, the transport drivers worked incessantly for several days to forward comforts to arrive in front line by Christmas Day. Their work was greatly handicapped by adverse weather conditions.

9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Tripoli
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - Christmas Day. Voluntary church services were held today as follows - other denominations 0845 at Protestant Church Tripoli near American Mission. Turner, Captain Chaplain RC, officiated. Roman Catholic service at 1000 at Convent of Sisters of Charity, Tripoli. Chaplain the Reverend Woods officiated owing to Chaplain Canon Moore's absence on leave; there was no C of E service.
Excellent rations, a sunny day and pleasant surroundings, this Christmas Day contrasted very greatly with the Regiment's previous Christmas which was spent in the hills holding the line at Suffa with horses at Katra.
Parsons, Major HM; Burns, Lieutenant AG; Gibney, Lieutenant BE; Stephen, Lieutenant HH; and, nine Other Ranks returned from leave in Egypt. Twenty Other Ranks marched in from Moascar.
