2nd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 13th Reinforcements, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A36 Boonah 22 January 1916.

The HMAT A36 Boonah weighed 5,926 tons with an average cruise speed of 10.5 knots or 19.44 kmph. The Boonah was previously a captured German vessel called Melbourne. It was manned by Australia officers and crew and transferred to Commonwealth Government Line, 28 March 1918.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

Rank on embarkation;

Full name of the soldier;

Declared age of the soldier;

The last occupation held;

The last address as a civilian;

Enlistment Date; and,

Fate.

1844 Private Edward ANDERSON, a 25 year old Farmer from Gympie, Queensland. He enlisted on 9 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 1 May 1919.

1846 Private James ANDERSON, a 22 year old Farmer from Coominya, Queensland. He enlisted on 14 September 1915; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 17 September 1917.

1847 Private Robert Wellesley ARMSTRONG, a 21 year old Farmer from Clifton, Queensland. He enlisted on 25 August 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 10 April 1919.

 

1850 Private Albert BATCHELOR, a 21 year old Labourer from North Pine, Queensland. He enlisted on 8 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 1 May 1919.

1838 Acting Corporal Cyril John Isaac BEAZLEY, a 22 year old Selector from Tara, Queensland. He enlisted on 13 August 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 9 July 1919.

1849 Acting Corporal Edward Marshall BENNETT, a 23 year old Farmer from Leongatha, New South Wales. He enlisted on 16 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 4 June 1919.

1848 Private Thomas John BROWN, an 18 year old Labourer from Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 September 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 2 November 1917.

1840 Acting Corporal Eustace Wardle BURBRIDGE, a 23 year old Dairyman from Greens Creek, Queensland. He enlisted on 9 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 8 September 1919.

 

1860 Private William Joseph CAIN, a 25 year old Labourer from Blackall, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 19 June 1919.

1852 Private Allan Gray CAMPBELL, a 22 year old Farmer from Greenmont, Queensland. He enlisted on 2 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 6 September 1919.

1857 Private Phillip John CARDWELL, a 23 year old Farmer from South Kyogle, New South Wales. He enlisted on 14 September 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 22 October 1917.

1856 Private George CARFOOT, a 19 year old Telephonist from Alderley, Queensland. He enlisted on 7 September 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 21 April 1918.

1851 Private Alfred Rupert CHAUNCY, a 22 year old Stockman from Yarraman Park, Queensland. He enlisted on 6 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 15 June 1919.

1899 Private John Patrick NEWMAN, a 22 year old Bus driver from North Ward, Queensland. He enlisted on 30 August 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 17 December 1919.

1897 Private Walter NOLAN, a 23 year old Labourer from Toowoomba, Queensland. He enlisted on 23 August 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 25 October 1919.

 

1900 Private Frank Robert Warland OSBORNE, a 19 year old Planter Overseer from Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 13 September 1915; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 6 June 1917.

 

1901 Private Osman Gladstone Waldeman PAGE, a 31 year old Trainer from Grafton, New South Wales. He enlisted on 14 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

1905 Private George Alfred PEARSON, a 44 year old Quarryman from The Valley, Queensland. He enlisted on 3 September 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 15 February 1918.

1906 Private Cyril Stephen PETTY, a 20 year old Farm Labourer from Bororen, Queensland. He enlisted on 4 September 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 1 February 1918.

1902 Private William Alexander PHYTHIAN, a 26 year old Shearer from Blackall, Queensland. He enlisted on 14 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 July 1919.

1904 Private Bernard George PLUMMER, a 19 year old Farmer from Palmers Island, New South Wales. He enlisted on 21 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

1903 Private Vincent Sylvester PLUMMER, a 20 year old Tailors apprentice from Palmers Island, New South Wales. He enlisted on 13 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

 

1942 Private Samuel REID, a 31 year old Labourer from Kedron, Queensland. He enlisted on 7 July 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 31 May 1919.

1910 Private Harry RIDLEY, a 22 year old Blacksmith from Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 31 August 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 1 March 1919.

1908 Private Arthur John RIXON, a 28 year old Labourer from Townsville, Queensland. He enlisted on 6 September 1915; and subsequently Died of Accident, 15 January 1918.

1912 Private Samuel Ross ROBERTS, a 25 year old Miner from Nebo, Queensland. He enlisted on 6 September 1915; and subsequently Died of Wounds, 17 January 1917.

1907 Private Horace Albert ROBEY, a 29 year old Miner from Townsville, Queensland. He enlisted on 6 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 4 May 1919.

1932 Private William Henry ROSS, a 26 year old Horse breaker from Brisbane, Queensland. He enlisted on 10 April 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 4 October 1918.

1911 Private Louis Gordon Tackey ROWBOTHAM, a 25 year old Labourer from Bolton Park, Queensland. He enlisted on 17 August 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 6 September 1919.

1909 Private Charles RYDER, a 27 year old Labourer from Yetman, New South Wales. He enlisted on 13 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 2 January 1919.

1922 Private William Thomas VICKERS, a 26 year old Farmer from Millmeran via Pittsworth, Queensland. He enlisted on 31 May 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

1923 Private Adolph WILLIAMS, a 24 year old Stockman from Cloncurry, Queensland. He enlisted on 13 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 1 May 1919.

1935 Private Arthur Lynne WILLIAMS, a 32 year old Grazier from Sandalwood, Queensland. He enlisted on 27 October 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 25 August 1919.

1925 Private William Ernest WINTERTON, an 18 year old Farmer from Lismore, New South Wales. He enlisted on 8 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 2 August 1919.
