12th Australian Light Horse Regiment

12th Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 19th Reinforcements Kyarra Group, embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board HMAT A55 Kyarra 7 September 1917.
The HMAT A55 Kyarra weighed 6,953 tons with an average cruise speed of 14 knots or 25.92 kmph. It was owned by the AUSN Co Ltd, London, and manned by Australia officers and crew. The Kyarra was leased by the Commonwealth until 4 January 1918. The Kyarra was torpedoed and sunk by a submarine in the English Channel, 26 May 1918.

2363 Private Thomas ALLEN, a 28 year old Farmer from Leeton, New South Wales. He enlisted on 21 March 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 20 July 1919.
2373 Private James Richard CALDWELL-HIGMAN, a 45 year old Farmer from Maxton via Coolamon, New South Wales. He enlisted on 16 January 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 5 February 1919.
2374 Private George William Leslie HOLSTEIN, a 31 year old Horse trainer from Wards River Gloucester, New South Wales. He enlisted on 22 March 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 2 August 1919.
2377 Private Albert James KNOX, a 21 year old Carter from Narrandera, New South Wales. He enlisted on 2 April 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.
2383 Private James MARTIN, a 37 year old Engine driver from Forbes, New South Wales. He enlisted on 4 April 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 17 July 1919.
2379 Private Thomas David McALISTER, a 38 year old Carpenter from Junee, New South Wales. He enlisted on 5 March 1917; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 28 January 1919.
