The following is a transcription of the War Diary of the 1st Infantry Battalion , AIF, of their role in the landings at Anzac on 25 April 1915.
24 April 1915
Mudros
5A - Left Mudros Harbour - to rendezvous in Bay on North of Island.
11.30 - Left rendezvous.
25 April 1915
P5 - Arrived
6.15 A - Commenced disembarkation.
7.40 A - Landed without loss.
8.20 A - Received orders to send company forward.
8.35 - "B" Company moved out but were halted.
9.30 - Received orders to reinforce Colonel MacLagan of the 3rd Infantry Brigade.
Kapa Tepe
10 A - The whole Battalion was thrown into the firing line and worked independently of Battalion Headquarters.
