1st Australian Light Horse Brigade, AIF, 17th Reinforcement, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A10 Karroo 5 May 1916.
The HMAT A10 Karroo weighed 6,127 tons with an average cruise speed of 12 knots or 22.22 kmph. It was owned by the Ellerman & Bucknall SS Co Ltd, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until 3 January 1917.

9979 Private William John Herron CAMPBELL, a 40 year old Master Mariner from Double Bay, New South Wales. He enlisted on 31 January 1916; and subsequently was Discharged, 4 October 1916.
9976 Driver William LONGWORTH, a 23 year old Manager from Rose Bay, New South Wales. He enlisted on 13 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 28 September 1919.
9978 Driver William George Arthur NORMAN, a 38 year old Baker from Leichhardt, New South Wales. He enlisted on 23 September 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 4 June 1919.
9977 Driver Frank TUCKER, a 19 year old Driver from ASC Det Darlinghurst Goal. He enlisted on 3 February 1916; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 9 July 1919.
