1st Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 6th Reinforcements, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A65 Clan McEwen on 28 June 1915.

The HMAT A65 Clan McEwen weighed 5,140 tons with an average cruise speed of 15 knots or 27.78 kmph. It was owned by the Cayser, Irvin and Co, Glasgow, and leased by the Commonwealth until 14 April 1917.

The ensuing individual soldier's embarkation information contains the following details:

Rank on embarkation;

Full name of the soldier

Declared age of the soldier;

The last occupation held;

The last address as a civilian;

Enlistment Date; and,

Fate.

1004 Private Henry Bartram Montague CARVER, a 21 year old Station hand from Goulburn, New South Wales. He enlisted on 4 March 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 12 June 1919.

1007 Private George Denis CHAPMAN, an 18 year old Farmer from Spring Hill, New South Wales. He enlisted on 8 March 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

1008 Private Percy Wellesley CHAPMAN, a 28 year old Student from South Hill, New South Wales. He enlisted on 9 March 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 12 March 1917.

1009 Private Bertram CLARKSON, a 20 year old Station hand from Tamworth, New South Wales. He enlisted on 2 February 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 30 August 1918.

 

1010 Private Silas John DAVERN, a 23 year old Labourer from Ormiston, Queensland. He enlisted on 2 March 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 22 September 1919.

1011 Private Geoffrey DEIDERICK, a 23 year old Farm hand from Ashfield, New South Wales. He enlisted on 28 February 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 29 January 1916.

1012 Private George DUNSTER, a 39 year old Miner from Cobar, New South Wales. He enlisted on 19 December 1914; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 29 January 1916.

 

1014 Private Norman Hugh FALLOW, a 20 year old Bank Clerk from Hornsby, New South Wales. He enlisted on 3 March 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 13 March 1919.

1015 Private Eustace Ryan FORSTER, an 18 year old Farm hand from Sydney, New South Wales. He enlisted on 16 March 1915; and at the conclusion of the war, Returned to Australia, 12 April 1919.

1055 Private Charles Ernest FOX, a 42 year old Horse shipper from Waverley, New South Wales. He enlisted on 15 March 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 5 July 1916.

1016 Private Thomas FYFE, a 37 year old Painter from Erskineville, New South Wales. He enlisted on 5 February 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 10 June 1916.

1st Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 10th Reinforcements, embarked from Sydney, New South Wales on board HMAT A4 Pera 12 October 1915

The HMAT A4 Pera weighed 7,635 tons with an average cruise speed of 11 knots or 20.37 kmph. It was owned by the P&O SN Co, London, and leased by the Commonwealth until 6 January 1917. The Pera was torpedoed and sunk in Mediterranean on 19 October 1917
