9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Heliopolis, Egypt.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - Syllabus of training for the reorganisation of the Regiment was outlined today. Horses. One 342 horses are in the lines, the remainder having been taken by the Composite Regiment to the Western Front. Requisitions for equipment have been sent to SOO.

9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - The Regiment undertook routine work for the day.
1917
Sunday, December 30, 19179th Light Horse Regiment Location - Khurbetha Ibn Harith, Palestine.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - A party was making a road from Regimental Headquarters to where engineers were forming a road at Sq J6B. Very few enemy were observed. Orders received that Division would be relieved on 31st December.
3rd Light Horse Brigade War Diary - The relief of the Brigade by the 29th Infantry Brigade commenced at 0900 but owing to the steep and rocky nature of the country was not completed until 1600.
At 2000 the Brigade was concentrated in the vicinity of Kefr Rut.
Instructions were received that the withdrawal of the Brigade to Katra would commence at 1100 on 2nd January, 1918, and that the Brigade led horses would reach Brigade Headquarters at 1000 that day.
Since the 27th October, 1917, the Brigade had been engaged in continuos operations with the enemy, which period was only punctuated with two short periods of rest at Wadi Sukhreir and El Mejdel. Considering the severity and number of actions in which the Brigade had been engaged the casualties suffered, with the exception of those suffered from enemy aeroplane bombing, and had been extremely light. The health of the troops, with the exception of the epidemic of diarrhoea in 8th Light Horse Regiment had been good throughout. All ranks had been called upon for long periods of endurance and had responded on all occasions.

9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Tripoli, Lebanon.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - Non Commissioned Officers instructional class was conducted from 0830 - 0930. Heavy rains during the night flooded part of the Regimental area.
