3rd Australian Light Horse Regiment, AIF, 7th Reinforcements Kanowna Group, embarked from Melbourne, Victoria on board RMS Persia 10 August 1915.
The RMS Persia weighed 7,974 tons with an average cruise speed of 18 knots or 33.33 kmph. It was owned by the P & O SN Co, London. Torpedoed and sunk on 30 December 1915.

1146 Private Benjamin BURNLEY, a 23 year old Farmer from Luprena, Tasmania. He enlisted on 5 June 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 14 January 1919.
1148 Private Ernest Frank DAFT, a 20 year old Farmer from Hagley, Tasmania. He enlisted on 8 June 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 6 July 1919.
1150 Private Roy Walter DICK, a 21 year old Labourer from Riana, Tasmania. He enlisted on 14 April 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 22 December 1918.
1149 Private John Walter DUDMAN, a 21 year old Labourer from Railton, Tasmania. He enlisted on 16 June 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 21 July 1917.
1151 Private George Frederick Leslie FINN, a 22 year old Groom from Ranelagh, Tasmania. He enlisted on 25 May 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 11 April 1917.
1153 Private Joseph William HINDS, a 27 year old Miner from Beaconsfield, Tasmania. He enlisted on 17 June 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 4 December 1918.
1152 Private Harold Ernest MANN, a 23 year old Labourer from Beaconsfield, South Australia. He enlisted on 25 June 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 31 May 1919.
1155 Private George Augustus Basil McGUANE, a 21 year old Jockey / Driver from Sth Yarra, Victoria / St Kilda, Victoria. He enlisted on 15 June 1915; and subsequently was Discharged, 29 October 1918.
1154 Private Geiss Macarthur MORTYN, a 24 year old Clerk from Moonah, Tasmania. He enlisted on 14 June 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 16 May 1919.
1156 Private Albert James OLIVER, a 25 year old Carpenter from Forth, Tasmania. He enlisted on 10 March 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 10 June 1916.
1157 Private Albert Claude PORTHOUSE, a 21 year old Motor driver from Hobart, Tasmania. He enlisted on 9 June 1915; and at the conclusion of the war Returned to Australia, 28 January 1919.
1158 Private Roy Oscar THOMPSON, a 23 year old Labourer from Northdown, Tasmania. He enlisted on 17 June 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 2 September 1916.
1159 Private Roderick Noel White WEAVER, an 18 year old Clerk from Newtown, Tasmania. He enlisted on 21 June 1915; and subsequently was Killed in Action, 4 August 1916.
1160 Private Richard Rezin YORK, a 19 year old Farmer from West Kentish, Tasmania. He enlisted on 19 June 1915; and subsequently Returned to Australia, 3 January 1916.
