9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Heliopolis Camp, Egypt.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - No Entry.
Carew Reynell Diary - On 8 May Colonel Hughes offered our Brigade for service as a dismounted unit.
1916
Monday, May 8, 1916
9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Roadhead, Serapeum.
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - In furure the Regiment will parade mounted during "Stand to Arms" and move clear of the camp.
1917
Tuesday, May 8, 1917
9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Abasan el Kebir
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - Party of 50 all ranks attended gas demonstration.
150 all ranks attended washing parade at water troughs.
Thirteen Remounts were secured from Brigade and were allotted.
“A” Squadron moved out at 1630 to El Gamli reporting to the Commanding Officer of the 10th Light Horse Regiment for digging.
1918

9th Light Horse Regiment Location - Auja Bridgehead defences
9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - From 0430 to 0800 desultory enemy shelling with small calibre high explosive shells onto Regiment's sector. No damage done.
Usual day and night patrols were sent out. Very little enemy movement during the day. Large parties working trenching and wiring during day and night.
Fifty two reinforcements marched in.

9th Light Horse Regiment War Diary - Aikman, Lieutenant GE, and his post, No 4 cabin, Zagazig railway station reduced to one Officer and 28 Other Ranks.
